Assuming that this is the case then you need to do the following….

Open regedit and navigate to:

HKLM > Software > DBU Consulting > Servers Alive > Team

Make a note of the teamid of the team that you want to change.

Then navigate to the Person key and make a note of the personid value.

Open the config file (preferably with a text editor like pspad as you can use regular expressions)

If you can use regular expressions you are looking to change like this:

Search =  (TID\=\d+

Replace = (PID=’number noted previously’

OR in notepad

Search =  (TID=’number noted previously’

Replace = (PID=’number noted previously’

TID = TeamId

PID = PersonId

Hope this helps anyone.

Sorry I have been a little busy.

I presume you have set up groups and people within SA?  And this is what you want to change…. An alert going to a group in SA to a person listed in sa?

We were using a group and setting the on call schedule for who in that group would actually receive the message.  But we now created an “on call” E-mail address and whoever is on call will have this mail forwarded to them.  Ideally I would like to be able to go and replace all alerts going to “group a” to “person b”.

Thanks,

Steve

Do you still need some assistance with this, I can help in the short term but I think Dirk would be interested in what your needs are as it may be something that would be good for everyone.

Subject: [SA-list] find/replace

Hello,

I need to do a sort of “find/replace” on my SA check list in a few areas as we are doing some changing in our teams organizations which has caused me to delete one group and create several more users which are in different groups.  Now I need to go and change who gets the responses on some 600 checks.

Is there a way to do this so I don’t have to manually go through each check?  Fortunately within the check groups the same new person or group can be put in for the old group which should make this quick – once I can figure out how to do it!

Thanks,

Steve
