Have a look at permissions and attributes if you do a ls -l of the ftp directory does root have rw? If not you may need to use chmod to assign the perms to the directory?

However it seems that some of them are not 100% "correctly" configured for what we want to do. And as my *nix/bsd knowledge is a little limited I was wondering if anybody could give me some "light"? I have a Debian 3.1 image running, it has an FTP server installed (ProFTP) and I can access the system via FTP. However the user that I'm using (root) is NOT able to write/upload, how can this be changed? Also by default as a user I get into my "user" directory (I suppose?). It is possible to "create" a virtual directory (myroot) that points to / Thanks. Dirk Bulinckx.
