And what does SA give as reason for the down?

The archive site no longer has the listservers-archive :-( The original
machine hosting it died and the backup device too, meanning that we can't even
try to restore the backup (in the hopes that the backup itself is still OK)

Subject: [SA-list] NT process check often reports down

Hi

We are running a SA NT process check against a third party NT process on an XP
box. SA more often than not reports that the process is not running. If we
check the process, it is up.

Is there a thread about best practices for checking NT processes? Also, I
looked for the list archive at archive.serversalive.com
(http://archive.serversalive.com/), but this link loaded a site that was much
like the home page. Is the archive still available?

We are running SA 6.1.2204 on an XP SP3 host. The box being checked is running
on XP SP3.
