If you make changes and don't save them, then it's normal that they are not within the entries file.
The option that saves the current status to the hostfile will save the hostfile and as such also the changes you made to it Not sure how we can change that.. Dirk Bulinckx. We've not had any corruptions - however, we've had two other problems. One (by definition, obviously) is that every time SA restarts it sends out alerts on existing problems. The other is that changes to SA (new or amended checks) don't appear to be saved unless you manually do a File - Save, which is a real pain. On balance we've decided to revert to keeping status in the host file, as being the lesser of two evils. However, if this could be re-examined and an improved solution found we would really appreciate it! If so it can be that the file is OPEN while the reboot happens and that could give a corruption of the file. Dirk Bulinckx. It often seems to happen when the server is rebooted without SA being stopped first (eg server crash). This is less critical than it once was as we now backup the hostfile daily, and can restore it without too much hassle, but it is nevertheless a pain in the neck and results in a loss of confidence in SA every time it happens. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any idea what might be causing it?
