You need the OID of what you want to "get" from the SNMP enabled device.
If you have a MIB browser like GetIF, then give it the MIB file and let it "walk" the snmp temp device. It will show you all OIDs that respond, and that is what you will need a specific OID. dirk From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:sal...@woodstone.nu] On Behalf Of Bill Tkach Sent: Tuesday, May 18, 2010 8:16 PM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: [SA-list] SNMP I’m not an SNMP pro… so… I can’t seem to read my temperature monitor with Servers Alive. What do I need to provide to have Servers Alive Monitor an SNMP enabled device? I have it enabled on the device (an Avtech Room Alert Temperature monitor), I have SNMP services installed for Window 2003 R2…. I have common public/private SNMP strings. I have a MIB for the device… do need to import this into Windows? Or should I just be able to type the OBJECT-TYPE from the MIB (ie humidity-index) into Server’s Alive and have it read that?
