Maybe easier: How about an alert check box for “Any Change of State”.
Then you would get an email for each change: DOWN, UNAVAILABLE, UP. I think this exposes a problem that needs to be fixed. Can I request, then, a couple of alternatives to fix this? In the "when" tab for alerts, could you EITHER change "when back up after a down" to "when back up after a down or an unavailable", OR could you add an extra tick box for "and when back after an unavailable"?
