Hi All, just in case anyone else comes across a similar issue;
Dirk reviewed the reg file and found that the "teams" and "person"s I was having the issues with were labelled in the registry with the same TEAM ID (or PERSON ID), i.e., the field HKLM\software\DBU Consulting\servers alive\person\username\personid had more than one key with the same value against the personid field causing the groups to be substituted for each other. At this point not entirely sure how that might have changed, (unauthorised fiddling??) but is resolved nonetheless . Thanks for your assistance Dirk. If that's fine for you, then I will need a dump of the Servers ALive registry, your entries file and EXACT steps to reproduce the problem. I am currently running SA Version 6.3.2392 on Win 2003 R2 I have a group created called Apps Support which, when I try adding it to the alerting for any check, at least any I have tried so far, it seems to add the {default} group instead! I can successfully add the members individually to the check alerts but get this unusual behaviour when I add this particular team. I have also seen the same strange behaviour when adding one particular user to other groups, i.e., I add his user to the alerting group and update the groups but when I edit the group to check, there has been another user substituted in his place. I have worked around the issue for the moment by creating a duplicate Apps Support 2 group with the same members which can be successfully added to the alerts. Which makes it even stranger...... Any ideas or should I push ahead with an SA upgrade and see if it fixes it's self?
