>> Peter Anderson: but all checks are set up for specific authentication

I find it easier to use an account for the *service* Servers Alive.  In that
case you only have to specify credentials once. Recently I run Servers Alive on
a Win2012 server with a Managed Service Account (Win2008R2 Active Directory
environment).

Kind regards,

Pieter

This is a situation were the user running the check does not have enough rights
to perform the requested action. Using a user with more rights resolves the
issue

Was this ever resolved? Â We are having a similar problem.

I was running the GUI as a local administrator that doesn’t
have rights to the other systems, but all checks are set up for specific
authentication.  When run in app-only mode on this other IP, the service
checks succeed.

The GUI is running under 'your' context and probably you have rights on the
remote system.

The issue is probably the user that is configured for the check itself.

Yes and I admit it is possible there were two instances running (could that
cause this error?).  It will be an hour or maybe a day before I can swap
the new hardware back into production.  Right now it is running on another
IP address and service only and the same service checks are not failing
according to the HTML pages.

If you say GUI running, then you mean that both service and app are running?

Service and Telephony started, GUI also running.  Local System.  I
don’t have debugging turned on; that will be the next step.

Are you running the service or the app?

Running as a user or as the system user?

Does the logfile show another error too?

Version 7, 2528.  When running on a 2003 32bit server, everything was
fine.  I moved the config and host file to a new 2008 R2 box and now
service checks to 2008 servers all give this error “ERR:
Getservice status - OpenSCManager - 5-Access is denied.”
However, the credentials are still present in the check entries and I still get
a list of services when I edit the checks.  Re-entering credentials in the
checks make no difference.  The server name and IP of the server running
SA is the same as the previous server.  Ideas?  Thanks in advance,
