Hiya, folks!

I've been getting r-e-a-l-l-y sentimental about the SAM to the point I am getting rather teary eyed (or is it the monitor burn?!) so I decided to check out the SAM presence on the Web and surprised to see how strong it actually is - of course, with the resurgence of 8-bit gaming being "trendy" again, it makes sense.

God - I've been away for so long! I can't really remember when my last issue of SAMdisk was (issue 16?), though I do miss producing graphics in 2D. Nowadays, my graphic design prowess is being used in a top-secret-hush-hush Dreamcast title for Jester Interactive/Take Two Interactive where I'm currently Lead Artist. Are they mad?! It means my time is took up by this an awful lot, but I am thinking of starting a h-u-g-e SAM orientated web page with loads of archive material, etc.
Definitely a weekend job.

Oh, remember Dave Handley? He's working in Jester as well! That was pretty spooky seeing him again, though we work in different offices. He's just finished working on Music 2000 last year. I'll e-mail SAMsters which I haven't been in contact with for ages, though I've downloaded SimCoupe (ready for memories..!). I still have my SAM in a box in semi-pristine condition, with software. Is there an easy way for my PC to read SAM disks and convert images/text to PC friendly format? I think I've downloaded a program which does this, though I'm not sure yet.

Jeez, Dave Ledbury's got his own URL....! Colin MacD's working for DMA Design! Oh, and I'll be working on some 3D SAM characters soon, plus putting the 2D graphics of the SAM robot I produced, so anyone who needs them, hang tight!

It'll be great hearing from SAM-crazed punters again!

Gotta go - got a 3D world to texture... doh! Why couldn't I of stuck with 2D?!

Steven Pick :)~
