I agree! I noticed this when migrating my W2K Server domain to Samba domain. On clients I had to
1) switch clients from DOMAIN to workgroup TEMPO, reboot
2) power off W2K Server
3) power on Samba PDC
4) Erase *all* profiles in C:\Document and Settings\ (excep Administrator and Default )
5) switch clients from TEMPO to DOMAIN, reboot

I think it is a Windows problem too.
