Not to be an announcement, but a discouragement for the moment for
those of you who have noticed....
In the Mail configuration there is a new group
SPAM Check
Actions Move to 'spam' folder
* Reject with SMTP error
Tests
* Test client IP address with reverse DNS
* Test HELO/EHLO domain for valid MX record
Check mail against mail/box/spam.flt REGEX rules
Check mail against mail/box/whitelist.flt REGEX rules
The reverse DNS is bouncing all list mail. I was using it along with
"valid MX record" all night and was thrilled with the lack of spam
this morning, but it wasn't until Alex contacted me via another server
that I was aware of what was happening list-wise.
We did a LOT of tests and there is no way around it. Even with both
the domain names and IP addresses of these Sambar lists in the
Whitelist.flt, they didn't come through. So short of Alex fixing his
DNS (gotcha Alex) leave the "reverse DNS" unchecked until it gets
figured out.
If you know an alternate way of getting to someone who you know is
already running this beta preview, pass this info along would ya? The
"Official" Beta 3 isn't due out for another day or two.
