Sounds like you don't have proper DNS setup for the server to use.

Subject: [sambar] Getting out of the mailinglist {03}
RE: [sambar] Getting out of the mailinglist {01}Hello Jeff,
i do not posted the problem in the c-dev list. But this is the only lists
where i can't get out. I won't try to subscribe to the other lists again.
The problem we had with sambar is, that requesting web- pages will result
much often in a 401-error. Without sambar it will work fine. With aother
proxy- servers it will work also fine. Due to this error browsing through
the web is sometimes not possible. We have to press refresh several times
(up to 10 times) to get the page viewed. I posted this failure to a mailing
list and to two newsgroups. No response. I also send the request to sambar.
No repsonse. So thats why i won't use the product further. I'm investing
somuch time that we could buy a prof. proxy server.

Andreas

I did a quick search through my archives and the only two posts I found
from you were from 06/11/2002 and this one (07/20/2002). Did you post your
question to this list, the c-dev list, or some other list? If so, as who,
where, when, and what was the problem?
The $99 license fee allows the licensee to use the additional features
that are part of the product. It does not provide for any specific or
one-on-one support. As stated in the documentation on the Sambar site
(http://www.sambar.com/syshelp/index.htm):
----------
Asking Questions
"If you have a question about the Sambar Server which is not answered by
the documentation, send an e-mail to Sambar Technologies. Regretably, due to
the volume of e-mail received, a response cannot be guaranteed. However,
questions are periodically reviewed and the documentation is updated to
respond to frequently asked questions."

Hello,
because the sambar proxy won't work in our installation and no one could /
would help (the developer won't, the mailing list won't and the newsgroups
also won't) we have uninstalled this ...... product. I can't believe it, but
we have payed our 100 USD and we are getting no support. Chuck this product
in the bin! I wrote to the developer directly. But he didn't answer. Who is
he? Have a nice evening with our money. :-(
Now i've tried to get out of the list via the webpage. No chance. I tried
it three times. Should I pay another 100 USD to get out of here? I'm pissed
of this product.
Regards
Andreas
