One thing you might check is something I found a while back that is simular to your
situation. I found the the MS DNS Client is a bit more robust than the one within
Sambar in that the OS can lookup names 2 both DNS servers where I have seen Sambar
tend to stick with one or the other. (Not sure the thought process there). What I had
found was that NT had the same DNS entries as Sambar yet Sambar could not resolve
names but the OS could.. Doing some enhanced nslookups I found that one of the DNS
servers was toast.. Just so happened that that it was the second one in the list and
nslookup defaults to the first. So you might trying testing both DNS entries to make
sure they both work ie;
nslookup
server dns1.yourisp.com
set type=mx
yahoo.com
nslookup
server dns2.yourisp.com
set type=mx
yahoo.com
If both work ok then we're back to ground 0.. If only one works then remove the bad
one from Sambars config.
