Not a user of DSL myself, but...

Persistent Connections
With this check-box marked, when a connection is broken by means other
than manually terminating the session, EnterNet 300 will automatically
attempt to re-establish the connection.

Persistent connection support, from the Advanced Settings menu on
EnterNet 300, is not very persistent. Enternet 300 will retry the
connection a few times after the server disconnects, and then report the
connection was dropped.

There are applets out there that will perform actions (e.g. push
buttons) when specified windows (e.g. dialog boxes) open. I can not
recall any specific ones, but I am sure a little searching will yield
something. Using one of these utilities should allow you to
automatically click the reconnect button as soon as the Enternet 300
reports the connection was dropped.

I had the same problem with SWBELL. I ended up buying an SMC router that
Microcenter had on sale, for 20 bucks, It automatically reconnects
when the line is dropped. The only problem is that you can't set the
time between re-trys so occasionally about once a month I have to do a
manual reset on it because the line was dropped and down for too long.
Also enternet300 has a couple of options. I believe one is reconnect and
the other is persistent connections. I apologize if this is not correct,
I haven't used enternet300 since I got the router, Since ppoe is built
in to it, good luck.

Subject: [sambar] OFFTOPIC - DSL Connection problem question {01}

I recently changed my ISP, and now have a DSL connection. The PPoE
software in Enternet 300.

The problem I'm having is that the connection keeps getting dropped.

What can I do to make it re-connect?

Right now I have to run to the basement, click on "OK", and click on
"Connect".

Does anyone know how this could be automated so it will reconnect itself
once the line gets dropped?

Best regards,
Dave
