No, not portable/compatible.
For the same reason,  you mention,  I do not use  .STM and other specific
Sambar functions.
I do a lot with Java and/or with ASP (from selisoft).

We can switch from Sambar to Apache within a second on the
www.sambarserver.info server.

Once in a while we switch to Apache for testing and compare Sambar and
Apache.
