To date I've been using pop3 catchall mailboxes at my ISP. It works well expecially with 5.3 beta 4. Now I would like to try the direct route (without using the fetchers) but without becoming an open relay either. Would someone care to comment on the entire process? Assume that the domain was ABC.COM and it was setup as a virtual host. Also assume that in the DNS we have an "A" record as ABC.COM and we have an "MX" record as MAIL.ABC.COM
What else would be needed if my mailserver was setup as BBH.COM and I used my ISP's SMTP as SMTP.DARKRAIDER.NET? Also assume that I have SMTP AUTH set TRUE. Thanks for a complete workup. PS.
