Sonia released an update engine (for both versions 3 & 4) that I thought was supposed to handle that. I do not use Sambar's web mail or Sonia's anti-virus add-on, so I can not say this for sure. However, I do have a ZIP separate from the 4.0 virus scanner that is an updater. I do not have installation instructions for the 4.0 updater, but I do have them for the 3.0 version.
I haven't seen many posts from Sonia lately or heard any more about the virus scanner's status. Back on December 15, 2002, Sonia posted about the pending release of the 4.2 virus scanner, but it was never posted on her download page (I monitor this twice daily).
