Authentication has to be correct.. 
Win9x users dont have to worry about this because all applications run in the same 
context as any drive mappings in the users context.. On winnt,2k,xp they do not. When 
Sambar is running under the system account it would not have access nor should be able 
to see user defined drive mappings. I would say the easiest way to do it is to create 
a custom user id on the Sambar server box and make sambar run under the context of 
this user. Next grant that user permissions to the proper shares on the remote LAN 
drive and configure a sambar alias to the UNC:// path of the LAN server.. Now I have 
not tried using UNC with a vhost.. Don't know if it would work or not.

There are some other gateway/replication services you can run to make a drive mapping 
properly available to servers.. ie; Gateway services for netware and NFS server.. Not 
sure how to replicate SMB mount points.
