I have a lady who is subscribed to a newsletter. When
I enabled spam filtering, Sambar started rejecting this newsletter. Here
is the log entry. FYI, I only do DNSBL, no spam.flt filtering at all… [2003-11-06 01:14:30] OK [19401592] [140.239.85.2] [CONNECT] [2003-11-06 01:14:30] OK [19401592] [140.239.85.2]
[DISCONNECT] Not too much info there. I obtained the log entry of
the smtp server that sends this newsletter: --> Attempting to connect
to: ironclad.net (66.15.106.176 25) <-- Connected to:
ironclad.net (66.15.106.176 25) <-- 220-ns1.ironclad.net
ESMTP Server ready Thu, 06 Nov 2003 14:00:07 <-- 220-No UCE.
This server does not authorize use of its computers or network <-- [nothing received] Obviously, Sambar thinks it is spam due to one of
the built in rules. My question is, can I white list this IP? If
so, what is the syntax for the whitelist.flt file? I don’t have a
white list to look at. Will white listing even work since this is a built
in spam catcher in Sambar? Also, how can I find out why Sambar is rejecting
this message. It appears that the ip resolves. I don’t have a
copy of the e-mail to look at the headers since Sambar rejects the message.
The ultimate solution is to tell them how to fix the problem on their end so it
doesn’t look like they are sending spam. ------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe please go to http://www.sambar.ch/list/ --- |
