I totally agree Tod.. I mean Jim :)... Bad pun.. 
My hopeful thoughts on this would be to figure out how us 
heavy DNS people could do it ourselves and secondly distributing
a "standard" updater with Sambar. The source code behind the YIpost
updater I use is extremely small. I have written a lot of VB apps
that do IP stuff and I know it would be nothing for Tod to put
in the updater piece. What I would like to know though is how 
to do the server side of it and do it in a standard type method so
that a canned updater from Tod could update a DYNDNS record or 
one from our own DNS services. At this point I believe we could 
offer free or cheap services for our less fortunate sambarians. 
Personally I don't know if their even is a standard for dynamic DNS
updating. I know there are standards with DHCP leases but not sure
about dynamic IP updating.. Maybe a little RFC reading is in order.
