*Sr. Data Analyst to be extremely proficient in SAS and have a strong
background and be able to evaluate the client’s queries and provide
leadership on improvements.
Additionally, they need this person to be responsible for:
· Designing Ad-Hoc reports primarily using SAS and SQL
· Analyze source data and gathered requirements from the business
users
· Create reports with extensive use of BASE SAS, Macros and SAS
reports
· Responsible for consulting and providing detailed analyses.
· Extract data from a wide range of data sources and analytic tools
such as SAS, Teradata, SQL, EXCEL.
· Work with multiple teams within the company (Business, Marketing,
Management, External Vendors and IT)
· Develop UNIX Korn Shell scripts

**** Only Candidates who are SAS CERTIFIED - Base and Advanced - will be
considered*
*Responsible for the design, development and administration of transactional
and analytical data constructs/structures. Included within those
responsibilities are the areas of data access and delivery technologies.
Includes expertise in data quality, data organization, metadata, and data
profiling. May provide technical support on data warehouse teams. Data
set sizes are usually huge (in excess of hundreds of millions of records).
Demonstrated ability to move from one sequential assignment to the next
(work environment and priorities can change quickly depending on business
needs).
Demonstrated ability to move data between production systems and across
multiple platforms
3-5 years experience with Financial Services clients, preferably with
Capital One
Experience with major querying tools preferred
Works substantially with little supervision or oversight to deliver key
milestones
Less than 30 days to self sufficiency
Common skill sets – Oracle, VB and UNIX 5-7 yrs. Experience
OLAP/SQL Tools 5-7 yrs experience with MVS, Teradata, SAS, Brio or
comparable
Ability to deliver highly technical information to a broader audience beyond
the team lead while influencing within the team
Ability to debug queries and make them more efficient and simpler.
