QA Analyst Dallas, TX 6 Months This role is hands-on quality assurance tester with active participation in our client's software life cycle. The Analyst will work through the entire software development life cycle elaborating on requirements, building test plans and test cases to ensure requirements are covered and validating the product for deployment. This position will include manual testing with potential to learn automation using the QTP tool as well as data mining using SQL. This individual should have great trouble shooting skills with an ability to think outside of the box. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES . Participates in verification reviews and/or meetings to evaluate documents, plans, code, requirements and specifications. . Tests systems for functionality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications by performing systems integration, interface and regression testing. . Develops, maintains, executes, and validates test plans and test cases to ensure quality of software solutions. . Reports testing discrepancies and follows through to ensure that all issues are resolved. . Assists developers in identifying program and/or system errors. . Identifies potential design flaws and refers to application team for resolution. . Needs to be a free thinker with ability to complete tasks independently/interdependently. . Report, review, and close problem reports JOB REQUIREMENTS Required Skills . Experience writing test cases, creating bug reports, executing and tracking testing assignments. . 1 Year Experience using HP Quality Center or Test Director in creating manual test cases with defect tracking. . Education (minimum required): BS or BA degree in MIS, CIS, or a related business field, or comparable experience. . Experience (minimum required): 1 years Software Quality Assurance, Software Testing, SQA experience, including web testing experience. . Able to express complex technical and non-technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing. . Strong understanding of change management and release management processes . A good understanding of windows operating systems including XP/2000/ and 2003 . Experience using Microsoft Office products . Other duties as assigned Optional Skills . Experience working in a Financial Services Company . Experience with ONE programming languages of any kind; any type of programming language is fine. . Experience writing command line and/or vbscript files . Experience configuring or maintaining an application server in a J2EE environment . Experience working in a J2EE environment .
