Description : *Job Overview: A Database Specialist role at Client, financial services firm in the nation. This is an opening of a new area within BB&T. There is significant scope to expand in the area by setting up an offshore DBA CoE. The client has significant pain in terms of time to market for various database activities. Duties & Responsibilities: We're looking for a DB2 Expert to be part of a DB2 Center of Excellence. The individual should have at least 6 years of DB2 - Mainframe experience with the following skill set. • DB2 Utilities - Unload, Load, Image Copy, Runstats, Reorg • At least two years of DB2 Application programming experience. • Clear understanding of DB2 Plans, Packages, Bind and Rebind. • Expert in DB2 SQL • Expert in DB2 Stored Procedures • *Familiar with Logical and Physical modeling* • Familiar with IBM Data Studio • Should be good at DB2 Application Design • Should be able to help application teams in Trouble shooting DB2 related problems. • Must be very good at DB2 SQL and application tuning. • Should be familiar with DB2 Triggers/Functions • Must be good at Trouble shooting • Familiar with DB2/CICS environment • Should be able to design/code reusable components. • Should be excellent in written and oral communication. • Should be able to interface with various units – Business, DBA Team and other technical teams.
