Beloved Sapac-ers,
On November 8, several south asian groups with a common agenda of pluralism, communal harmony and equality for all people will be meeting to discuss how we can work together to promote these shared values both here and in south asia (specifically India).
It is the first time a broad based coalition of south asian groups in Chicago have come together to address these issues. Please come and support this venture. We believe that this process of developing a set of shared values and building a coalition around it will, in the long run, prove to be a broad based national movement of people of south asian descent working together for democracy, peace and equality.
There are opportunities for some spoken word artists to perform at the event. If you are interested and want to help out, please reply soon. Additionally, we need volunteers to help with many other logistical aspects--facilitate workshops, meet, greet, eat, etc. Overall, it will be good to have a strong visible presence of young, young-ish people at the event, so please try to attend and help out. The next planning mtg. for this show is October 30. We need to know who can do what by then.
The following is a draft flyer for the event.
