I donot wish to clog up the server, so this will be my last response. This is an important debate and Im glad that SAPAC is a forum that provides opprtunities for rexpressing one's views.

      I equally condemn both the Hindu and the Muslim Rightwing and I certainly hold no special brief for the latter. I study Hindu nationalism as part of my PhD research and the ground realities in India simply suggest that the Hindu Right is certainly a more immediate threat to the secular Indian state, compared to the Muslim Right � which cannot match up to the Hindutva forces in size, resources or even sheer numbers. Minority fundamentalism thrives on majority fundamentalism and that is why I worry about the latter. None of course is better than the other. That fact that you have no religion does not guarantee that you may not be knowingly or unknowingly supporting the agenda of the Hindu Right. You express pity for the fewer number of temples in North India compared to the South. This is your personal opinion (I share no such sentiment) but what are you!
 trying to imply? What does a poor innocent Muslim today have to do with the cruelties of Babar 400 years ago? 
          Of course Pakistan named its Missiles Ghanznavi! But I totally expect that from Pakistan. Why are you surprised? I am disturbed that you want India to become another Pakistan by indulging in tit for tat. Will you be happy if India decides to counter Pakistani fundamentalism by naming its missiles Shivaji or something? There will of course then, be no difference between the two countries. India must protect with zeal the rights of its minorities precisely because its democrac!
y is qualitatively superior to Pakistan�s. Btw, have you really read Romila�s book? Finally, I think to compare Romila and Hindu Right as similar activists is so ludicrous that I think I will not even attempt to counter that.
