Position: Technical Lead - Web/Java Performance Tuning
Start Date: October 3, 2011 (approx.)
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Albany, NY
Experience level: 8+ years must have recent experience leading a Team.
The technical lead is responsible for driving resolution for complicated
end-to-end production performance issues on a tactical day-to-day basis.
This individual will orchestrate various technical and application groups
including clients, web browsers, message queues, firewalls, web servers, app
servers, databases, switches, etc. Responsible for technically leading,
creating and implementing strategic process improvements across the entire
IT organization by working with Systems Administration staff, Architects and
Developers.
Responsibilities include performance monitoring and tuning Java Applications
on the portal infrastructure; advising administrators on potential
configuration changes impacting system performance, response times and
throughput; investigating/troubleshooting abnormal conditions within the
environment; leading technical groups such as messaging and/or database
teams to enhance applications performance.
MANDATORY EXPERIENCE
- Overall IT experience plus experience with Web based and Java based
applications
- Experience with IBM WebSphere products.
ASSOCIATED SKILLS
- Experience with at least one performance monitoring software tool
- Experience tuning applications running on IBM WebSphere middleware
software (Web Server, Application server, Portal Server, Process Server)
- Experience with java debugging at all tiers (portal, jsf, java, web
container, ejb container, database, etc.)
- Experience with application profiling tools.
