*Job Description:*
v Working with application development, support and infrastructure teams
to plan, analyze, execute and troubleshoot database migrations to SQL
Server 2014.
v Being the first line SME escalation point for database issues for the
migration project
v Contribute to the continuous improvement of the migration process.
v Assisting with Day-to-day management of the centralized mission critical
MSSQL Server platform
v *Has 10-15+ years of MSSQL Server administration experience including in
a mission critical SQL 2008/2012 Shared Platform environment ( 2014
experience is a plus )*
v *Strong knowledge of features and functionality in SQL Server Database
legacy and new technology.*
v Extensive hands-on experience with MSSQL Server upgrades/migrations and
VMWare environments including SQL 2012/2014
v Knowledge of High Availability and recoverability of databases in a 24/7
environment by using clustering, replication, mirroring, log shipping,
backup and restore ( always-on is a plus ).
v Experience in troubleshooting application performance problems
(Indexing, Optimizer, server configuration, Profiler, DMV etc)
v Can develop and troubleshoot PowerShell and T-SQL scripts
v Capability to understand and work in an environment with prime focus on
automation and security
v Superior communication and analytical thinking skills
v Has ability to work independently and achieve milestones
v Can collaboratively interface with tech leads, developers and DBAs of
high caliber to solve problems
