Hi there!

We want to port our Project from Adabas D 11.0 eSQL to SAP-DB, because of
too many Adabas D errors in Glibc-2.2.x/Kernel 2.4.x-xfs and failing
Adabas D support. Those Guys does not answer competent and in time.

During this we found strage behavior of the cpc-Precompiler. ;-<<
CPC does not act as expected.
After getting the V 7.3.0.15 Server Binaries & install it and reading
lots of PDFs ;->> The DB is up and running fine.

After Searching & reading the List Archives I did not found really
helpable messages.

So I write it down here. :->

This happens to a smal test Program:

jojo@pc3:sap-test $ uname -a
Linux pc3 2.4.10-xfs #1 Fre Okt 12 18:50:41 CEST 2001 i686 unknown
jojo@pc3:sap-test $ cpc -c test-prg
cpc options: -c file: test-prg.cpc
SAP AG SAP DB C-PreComp Version 7.3.0 Build 015-000-070-638

SAP AG SAP DB C-PreComp Version 7.3.0 Build 015-000-070-638
WRITE FILEERROR PCLIST : Invalid handle

cc -c -I /usr/sapdb/depend/incl test-prg.c
cc: test-prg.c: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
cc: No input files
test-prg.c compilation errors
error messages written to file test-prg.lst
test-prg.c saved
jojo@pc3:sap-test $

This looks like cpc does NOT WORK on NFS Homefilesystems. Big OOOps.
HUHH ? This should really not happen ?

I tried this small test Programm (connect, report Status Strings,
disconnect) from local filsystem (rootfs (xfs)), then the compilation
works as I thought.

What's going on there ? Anybody got an Idea to fix this ugly behavior ?
