Today I added a new backwards-compatible feature to the UPS shipper module.
In short, if you go to your site settings and check the "Time In Transit" option, instead of the default times we've been assuming so far, i.e. 3-5 days for Ground shipping, you'll get UPS' actual estimates for shipping from your zipcode to theirs. Not a range, it should be the actual number of business days. It won't work for countries that don't have postal codes, but in that case should fall-back to the old defaults. A little effort by someone else would easily enhance it to handle those cases. This option is not enabled by default, for backward-compatibility reasons, but I think most stores would want to use the new, enhanced estimated delivery times. UPS' APIs are annoying, they make you jump through too many hoops, and there's really no excuse for some of them, but ... it works and my client is happy. I hope you are too. This feature was sponsored by my client http://elenis.com.
