Ah, I had read the docs (I thought thoroughly) but evidently missed something. I'll go back and look for that.
In any case, I do think it would be better for products to be available immediately instead of having to wait for an overnight cron job (I know my users would complain), so I'll be looking for a better solution. Has this never been fixed because it's a particularly knotty problem, or just because people have been satisfied with the workaround?
