Yes, I have revised it today. Other useful sources are:
"Quick Start" and "Installation" in Satchmo documentation [1].
It is the same as in the source directory /docs, but on the web it is
nicer formated.
List of dependencies used for pip installation [2] helps me, if I want
semething between full authomatic and manual installation.
Blog article about Satchmo installation [3] not important, for
inspiration.

"tip" is a symbolic name (instead of the long changeset ID) for the
newest change, which Chris has reviewed and submitted.
The tip is used, if you don't specify explicitely anything older.
Developers should easy get your exact installed changeset ID.
Go to the old source directory, where '.hg' is, and run
hg log -r. (including comma)
If they can, upgrade should be easier, certainly without guesswork.
