Details:

Why not print the default locale's dates in a clear form? By running "date
+%x", I learnt the english language alone has at least seven official
prefered ways of writing dates.

16/10/05 (en_IE, en_AU, en_NZ, en_GB, en_CA)
10/16/2005 (en_US)
16/10/2005 (en_BW, en_ZW, en_ZA)
Sunday 16 October 2005 (en_IN, en_SG)
Sunday, 16 October, 2005 (en_PH)
Sunday, October 16, 2005 (en_HK)
2005-10-16 (en_DK)

How are you supposed to know if it is YY/MM/DD or one of the other five
permutations when native english speakers can't be consequent.

Please make the webpages in the default locale use one of the long date
formats.

This has previously been reported as savannah sr #104756, but I was told to
