Follow-up Comment #3, sr #722 (project savane):
> Like for othercase, someone who does not know what is kerberos > or PAM
surely dont need it.
I agree. I think you are mistaking my intent, though. I am not trying to
"get on your case" as they say or be annoying, I'm trying to flag
documenation issues for you. In this case it is a) that the two sections are
of very similar character, but only one (the Kerberos one) has a note that if
you don't know what it refers to you probably don't need to; and more
seriously b) BOTH of them mention Kerberos, with the result that if someone
actually DOES need to turn the Kerberos compatibility on and they are not
old-time experts at Kerberos, they may not understand that they need to turn
on both the Kerberos option AND the PAM option (which may not actually even
be the case; if not, why would the PAM option mention Kerberos by name? That
is, there probably needs to be something in the Kerberos section that either
says "you need to also turn on the PAM option above if you use Kerberos" or
"if you have turned on the PAM option above, do not turn on this Kerberos
options, because the PAM option handles Kerberos for you", or whatever.
I hope this is clearer. I perhaps should have make a clearer point that I am
submitting actual requests for support with the PHP5 issue I'm trying to fix
(for myself) and I'm trying to help debug that issue (for the savane project)
on the one hand with lots of tests, but I am also completely separately
submitting documentation improvement suggestions as they come up (in some
cases for things that I understand but which I suspect others may not), which
doesn't really have anything to do with my problems or help that I'm seeking.
I'm trying to help, esp. with savane-doc, at the same time as asking for
help.
