Do I correctly gather from this that a Firefox bug turned an honest POST

I miss when Mozilla packages were the gold standard of Internet client
software...
I can't hand on heart shout j'accuse at firefox, because my kde desktop with
nvidia card has got more and more flakey over time. Probably my own fault for
not doing a clean install of my home directory since kde 3.
KDE should have handled those migrations well. Hopefully, you are
neither using a proprietary graphics driver nor facing incipient
hardware failure. Both of those would explain increasing flakiness over
time.
Also, if you have flakiness problems with Wayland, try X11; if you see
flakiness with X11, try Wayland. Some drivers seem to work better with
one or the other. (My personal experience has generally been better
results with X11.)
That also is not an excuse for Firefox here: graphical flakiness should
not cause the network side of a Web browser to hang up repeating a
request like that.
Code quality at Mozilla seems to have severely deteriorated,
unfortunately. I have recently been dealing with a bizarre intermittent
bug in Thunderbird, where the UI sometimes reports an operation in
progress but no attempt to connect to the server is made.
