Romain Beauxis commented on LS-494:
-----------------------------------

Yeah, you're right, I need to clarify.

Essentially, we have two steps in a playlist:
  * What is the next songs?
  * How to loop in the playlist?

The first question relates to the order song are being played, which is either
normal or random.

The second question relates to how we loop in the playlist: once (only play the
whole list once) or after one song or after the whole playlist has been played.

The difference between randomize and random falls sort of in between: it
basically says that the order is random but in one case, the whole playlist is
reshuffled after each song and not in the other case.

It seems to me that we could come up with a better seperation of those things.
Once could be combined with random or normal, to play all songs once but with a
different order. Likewise, reshuffling after each song vs. reshuffling after
the whole playlist could be merged with once as a looping option.

It could potentially create a weird situation when using say "normal" with
"loop after each song" but I feel that if options are documented clearly, the
users would undertandard that it is not meant to be this way :-)

> "once" playlist mode.

> Now that we have fallible sources, it makes sense to allow playlists to fail.
> I propose a "once" playlist mode and a "restart" server command.
> Does that sound ok?
