I recently fixed a race condition in the playlist code. It had various
consequences, notably breaking randomness and doubling the initial loading (a
reload was triggered right after initialization). I don't see how it could have
led to a freeze, but I have instrumented the code a lot and I'm waiting to see
if I can reproduce the situation.
