David, maybe my effort is unnecessary then....though now I just kind of want
to do it :)

Hi Andy, we might be talking about two different things. There is a PACKAGES
files liquidsoap uses during the configuration step. I'm wondering what the
steps are to make all this happen within a .deb package. I've walked through
a few examples of creating .deb packages but they were all very simple and
it wasn't apparent to me if bootstrap/make/configure/make-install steps
happen at all within a .deb package.
