That kind of thing would be useful. It has come up several times on
the list, e.g. with the goal of switching away from a live show only
after it is really gone, not for minor disconnections.

If you want your source to be unavailable during the grace time, it's
tricky, and I think you have to use something experimental like
source.dynamic(). But if you're okay to just play blank (or a jingle)
before really switching, then you could delay the switching using a
transition in a normal switch() or fallback(). The idea is that the
transition would play silence for two seconds before playing the "new"
source. If the "old" source becomes available again then re-switching
would be initiated, the other transition would take place, which could
simply play the new source, perhaps with a fade or something.

I have little time at the moment, but feel free to press us for more
concrete help (also, ready-made examples might be available on the
list).
