Hi Romain,
Well, I agree with you, but my server and local box must correspond. From
looking at the ports in FreeBSD, with no functional upgrade possible for
liquidsoap, and my local box needs to correspond with whatever FreeBSD
does, there is no possibility of an upgrade to newer version of LS (not
that I have need for anything new).
So, I've been playing around with the new season code, and have begun to
see some hope of getting the New Season up-and-running.
What is so weird - running 'liquidsoap -c very-functional-old-season.liq
-- the error message still pops up. Weird, totally! But I did manage to
get a log where some errors have shown up.
So, I'm grateful you wrote back.
Seems like if the FreeBSD server is upgraded, that will be the end of
RuralCatholicRadio (after 10 years of solid running). Too bad . . .sigh
Blessings,
kronos

Ha I see.
Then, yes, this is really outdated. I believe that back then the mp3
output for icecast was called >`output.icecast.mp3`. At the very least
you should be able to do:
liquidsoap -h output.icecast.mp3
I'd recommend upgrading as soon as you can. This version is a universe
appart from the current software.

Hi, it's been a long time since I needed to contact the list for
help (nine
years!). I'm running LS 092 (due to software/hardware
incompatibility. My
production server uses LS 1.0.0.2 (FreeBSD). Both have worked just
great
until
I started working on my New Season about a month ago.
The issue occurs when I check the liq code using 'liquidsoap -c
xxxx.liq'
it
barfs and give the error message:
"char 24 [before "%'} Parse error."
The full code for that line:
"[output.icecast(%mp3(bitrate=32,mono),"
All six output lines of code for 6 streams give same error message.
This is
exactly the same code that is currently running on the existing six
streams.
I'm totally stumped on this one!
Ideas or help?
What version are you upgrading to? Would you mind filling up a bug
report here:

Thanks!

Hi Romain,
Unfortunately, I cannot upgrade locally or on the remote production
server due to different hardware/software >>>>setups.I am not
upgrading but adding six new streams to the existing twelve already
running.
What puzzles me is that if I run, on the current production setup,
'liquidsoap -c xxxx.liq' on a stream's code, >>>>it gives the same
message -- but it is working OK! Perhaps, the error message is bogus??
I have run identical output code on three or four 'New Seasons'
without any problems (last 'New Season ' was >>>>done in 2017).
Since my LS version locally is extremely outdated (with no
possibility of upgrading to a newer version), I'll >>>>hold off on

Have you ever run into this error message?
Thanks,
kronos
