Hmm my SQL command was in a Linux shell, I wonder if there are some
differences.

Currently, history is not retained when the server shuts down, so
restarting will give you a cleared out empty history. Retaining history
over restarts would be a very cool feature, perhaps using either a database
table or a text file somewhere.

If your playlist is defined in a text file, then upon restart it will just
read the same text file. You would have to update that text file to pick up
new songs. But in the case that you have simply defined a directory full of
song files, then restarting should cause the new song files in that
directory to get picked up.

If you can help me remember, I can add some of this information to the
documentation later on (my mind is engrossed in work tasks right now).
