Ass far as I know, there's no difference between that. There's the i(3|4|6)86 architecture, and AMD64.
I'd simply suggest to install Sawfish from source. It's actually pretty easy. Get the source packages from librep, rep-gtk and Sawfish and simply follow the instructions inside.
