Yes, it does it with a new user too. Anyway what could be wrong in my settings? A variable with a bad value somewhere? As far as I recall with lxpanel 0.4.0 it didn't happen, it started when I upgraded to 0.5.2; I tried contacting the people at lxde but didn't get any answer.
