So, I had 2 EBS volumes attached to one of my scalr.net instances. vol-a31bf1ca, vol-88f415e1 both attached to i-ea11f082
I rebooted the instance, and only vol-88f415e1 reattached. The other volume was listed on the EBS page as attached to the farm, and available. I selected "Attach" and chose the instance i-ea11f082. I got an error saying the volume was already attached to the farm and could not be attached. So I selected "Detach". The EBS volume DELETED. Bye-bye, data. Glad you weren't that critical.
