You disappear for over a year, then come back with a flame inducing thread? Nice..... When it comes to OS's, right tool for the job. Linux desktop #1 runs Debian Linux desktop #2 runs Fedora Winderz desktop runs XP SP2 Work laptop runs XP SP2 For general use, I flop between Debian and XP desktops. It depends on what I'm doing. 90% of the time I'm just surfing or e-mailing, so I don't care about OS at that point. I use Debian because I find it less problematic and lighter weight than any of the other popular distros. I run Fedora on desktop #2 for my ham radio stuff. Bob is heavily involved with getting ham packages into Fedora, so I want to lend a hand in that effort. I should note that those packages already exist in Debian :-) At my old job I was running Fedora because of issues with an ATI card in my laptop. It seemed that no other distro could handle that card correctly. I found Fedora to be sluggish but useable. -Brian _______________________________________________ scalug-list mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.mn-linux.org/mailman/listinfo/scalug-list
