The BNF, except where otherwise noted, is case-insensitive, but this is meant to be one of those exceptions. The syntax is borrowed from R6RS where it's case-sensitive, and as far as I know there is zero implementation support for the uppercase versions of these escapes. I've added the mnemonic escapes to the list of case-sensitive exceptions to the BNF. -- Alex
