Maybe you were looking at a section that has ended more than 1 hour
ago and seeing a RetroactiveAttendance form ?
Ah, I keep forgetting how you implemented that... So there are two
attendance forms. One like I described--the realtime attendance form,
and one like Gavin described--the retroactive attendance form. They
system picks which one to give to the user based on the time. This
might work well in practice but it might be particularly confusing for
casual testing.

There is a view for the ogre guy it's called "Attendance Control
Panel" you can look up any student in there and manage his
absences/tardies. So one would go to the panel, find the student,
yell at student, go to students attendance view, mark the "homeroom
absence" in question, set it to tardy, let the student go.
You can't log in as an ogre on the demo server, though, since we've
only got a simple one.
