Yes, the first place people would search "open as tree" is File, then 
Windows menues. That is why I put it in the Tools menu ... I don't 
remember why I made that choice

There is an explanation to this :
- non UCI engine use Multi PV = 1 and don't need their output to be 
converted to SAN. So when an engine (UCI or xboard) has MultiPV = 1, the 
output is left untouched.
- the conservion to SAN is tricky and cost some CPU (especially on 
Pocket PC).

But on a PC it's ok to waste a few CPU cycles so I will fix it.
