Hi!

Just a short note for those of you owning some version of
ChessBase Playerbase (included in the Mega): I was able to
generate some metadata associating playerbase images
(playbase/PLAYBASE.MMN/NNN99999.jpg) to the actual player
names. Conversion for my Mega 2006 succeeded yesterday
providing some 9500 photos usable for scid.

I could provide the metadata file (a simple xml-based
structure) and also a short perl-based hack on "how to get
it into scid" if someone is interested.

Due to (possible) copyright issues I could of course not
provide the about 100MB file of photos itself.

Note: The CB-Photos are about twice in size as the ones used
by scid (with the nice feature ot be all of the same size),
so they are scaled down for scid to 80x100. Of course one
could think about using the original size. Scid can display
them but they take up to much space in the player report, so
this would probably need some code adoptions. If someone is
interested in that problable (s)he could volunteer in those
adoptions.

Pascal: I'm not sure wether this xml file is suitable/of
interest for the scid distribution.

Franz: to generate the metadata I used your
ratings/spellcheck file. Special thanks for that!
