Hi,
I checked engines' behavior :
- changing hash size works (controlled by the memory usage of processes)
- I tried to change one parameter in Toga (King Safety) and put traces in
Toga's code : it is indeed taken into account.
So I don't know what is going on here.
Engines parameters are saved in file ~/.scid/config/engines.dat. For
example, for Toga :
engine {
Name {Toga uci}
Cmd ./engines/togaII1.2.1a/src/fruit
Args {}
Dir ./engines/togaII1.2.1a/
Elo 2600
Time 1209547023
URL {}
UCI 1
UCIoptions {{Hash 32} {OwnBook true} {BookFile performance.bin} {MultiPV
4} {{Search Time} 0} {{Search Depth} 0} {{NullMove Pruning} Always}
{{NullMove Reduction} 3} {{Verification Search} Always} {{Verification
Reduction} 5} {{History Pruning} true} {{History Threshold} 70} {{Futility
Pruning} true} {{Futility Margin} 100} {{Extended Futility Margin} 300}
{{Delta Pruning} true} {{Delta Margin} 50} {{Quiescence Check Plies} 1}
{Material 100} {{Piece Activity} 100} {{King Safety} 75} {{Pawn Structure}
100} {{Passed Pawns} 100} {{Toga Lazy Eval} true} {{Toga Lazy Eval Margin}
200} {{Toga King Safety} false} {{Toga King Safety Margin} 1700} {{Toga
Extended History Pruning} false}}
}
Maybe you could check you have the right parameters here, and re-run the
engine ?
But I have no real clue on what is going on. I will try to do more checks.

Don't miss this year's exciting event. There's still time to save $100.
