For me the best way is to use additional PGN tags, as suggested by Pascal, just adding support for them Something like: [Category "Blunders/Opening;Tactics/Mate"] [Category "Blunders/Endgame;Tactics/Stalemate"] And in Exercises window you will see following tree Blunders ---- Opening ---- Endgame Tactcis --- Mate --- Stalemate Clicking on given category shows all exercises assigned to it.
